ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ
H Μαρία Κανέλλου γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και φοίτησε στα Πανεπιστήμια Αθηνών και Λονδίνου (UCL). Έχει διδάξει στο University College London, στο King’s College London, στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Κεντ και στο Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου.
Η έρευνά της επικεντρώνεται στο αρχαίο ελληνικό επίγραμμα. Έχει συνδιοργανώσει τρία διεθνή συνέδρια για το επίγραμμα και για τον Θεόκριτο και επί του παρόντος ασχολείται με την επιμέλεια δύο συλλογικών τόμων. H μονογραφία της, που προσφέρει την πρώτη διαχρονική ανάλυση του ερωτικού επιγράμματος, εξεδόθη από τον εκδοτικό οίκο της Οξφόρδης (2025).
