Το Κέντρον Ερεύνης της Ελληνικής και Λατινικής Γραμματείας της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών σας προσκαλεί στη διαδικτυακή διάλεξη της Cynthia Liu (Πανεπιστήμιο της Οξφόρδης) με τίτλο «Harmony in Greco-Roman and Chinese poetry through translation».

ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
In both Greco-Roman and Chinese poetry, poetry and song-making are connected to the movements of the cosmos and the rhythms and harmony of the natural world. In this paper, I will experimentally combine comparative poetics with translation studies by first examining poetic imaginations of music-making in Greek, Roman, and Chinese lyric and then by looking at a 19th-century translation of the Chinese Book of Odes and the way it receives the Greco-Roman classical tradition to ‘translate’ Chinese poetry for Latin readers.
